Subject: Substrate Supply Inquiry – 20×20 mm Single-Crystal Diamond for Accelerator & Photonics Technology.
Dear HANIL HIGHTECH Team,
My name is Dhrumil Rangani, Co-Founder of Karia Technologies (USA). I’m reaching out because HANIL HIGHTECH’s leadership in high-performance components and materials for semiconductor, OLED, aerospace, energy, and other advanced industrial applications aligns with materials capabilities we’ve developed that may support or enhance your engineering platforms.
At Karia Technologies, we manufacture optical- and electronic-grade single-crystal CVD diamond wafers, including an industry-unique monolithic format up to 20 × 20 mm. Unlike mosaiced or tiled substrates, our monolithic wafers deliver uniform crystalline quality, superior thermal transport, and optics-grade surfaces — properties that are especially valuable for precision RF, photonics, thermal management, and high-flux scientific interfaces.
Key substrate properties:
Single-crystal CVD diamond (monolithic, no mosaicing)
Industry-unique size: up to 20 × 20 mm
Thickness: ~0.3–4.0 mm (custom thickness available)
Optical-grade, double-side polished surfaces
Thermal conductivity: > 2,000 W/m·K
Low impurity & defect content, ideal for demanding device interfaces
Diamond’s combination of broadband optical transparency, ultra-high thermal conductivity, and mechanical durability makes it well-suited to support:
High-performance semiconductor and wafer-handling interfaces
Thermal management substrates for semiconductor and OLED equipment
High-power photonic beam windows
Precision RF and aerospace interfaces
Thermal management substrates under high load
Precision optics and scientific measurement systems
Given HANIL HIGHTECH’s work with wafer and substrate chucks, specialized semiconductor components, and high-performance components operating in demanding aerospace and energy environments, we believe monolithic single-crystal diamond could offer a compelling material platform where extreme thermal conductivity, dimensional stability, durability, and precision surfaces are required.
From a commercial perspective, our 20 × 20 mm single-crystal wafers are typically priced at approximately USD 550–650 per wafer, depending on volume — significantly lower than many legacy suppliers who price comparable single-crystal formats in the USD 3,500–4,000 range. This pricing advantage makes high-performance diamond substrates a practical option for both R&D prototyping and scaled integration.
We would welcome the opportunity to:
Share detailed material specifications and datasheets
Provide evaluation samples tailored to HANIL HIGHTECH’s semiconductor, OLED, aerospace, or advanced component applications
Discuss how our substrates could support or enhance HANIL HIGHTECH’s advanced-materials and component technology roadmap
Explore a possible supply partnership
If this could be of interest, I’d be happy to arrange a brief technical discussion or provide additional documentation.
Warm regards,
Dhrumil Rangani
